Livingston Manor-Roscoe Library

Livingston Manor, NY

A new library for the towns of Livingston Manor and Roscoe organizes a "village of forms" around a central reading room conceived as a collective living room for the local community.

‍

The new 6,000 square foot library will be a vital community resource, with dedicated library spaces, integrated technology, and flexible community event spaces to serve a diverse and muti-generational local population.

The library was designed from the inside out, conceptualizing each program area as having its own distinct space, all clustered around a great reading room that we liken to the town’s "living room." While the floor is entirely on one level, the ceiling is modulated to define the different spaces and bring in controlled natural light, creating a warm, inviting, and light-filled interior year-round.
